Actuators & Stages
We developed these actuators and stages for our own monochromators. They are now available as products in their own right.
At a glance
- High vacuum (HV) and ultra-high vacuum (UHV) compatibility was the design goal from the start.
- Vacuum step motors, HV or UHV grade, with aluminium alloys throughout.
- Stainless steel ball screws with ceramic balls, and vacuum compatible limit switches.
- Tested and calibrated with our metrology suite.
- UHV cleaning followed by bake out to 120°C.
- RGA 0-200amu gas scans to measure outgassing after bake-out.
- High Vacuum stepper motors rated for 5×10-8 mbar (after water bake); Ultra High Vacuum motors rated to 10-11 mbar.
- Optional encoders, feed-through cables and connectors.

In this range
Vacuum preparation keeps outgassing to a minimum suitable for HV or UHV operation, but please note that no vacuum actuator or stage is outgassing free.
